It’s a beast in a bottle! That is the best way I can describe FIRE CIDER. It tastes horrendous but it works. Yes fire cider works!
Instead of waiting until you feel sluggish, congested or just plain yuck why not think of doing something throughout the cold an flu season or even year round to be proactive against the germs that ail us? I mean seriously, a shot a day can keep the doctor away. Take steps to prevent getting sick and double up when you start to feel any symptoms.
Fire Cider is a concoction of a bunch of heat producing produce steeped in apple cider vinegar then strained.
More specifically ingredients like white onion, garlic, jalapeños, horseradish, ginger, black peppercorns, turmeric, cayenne pepper, lemon and a selection of herbs. I use herbs that are available in my garden like rosemary, oregano, and thyme.

Chop all of those up, put them in a large jar like a big pickle jar, canning jar or like me a jar I bought specifically for this purpose. I actually have two. Once all of the produce is chopped up and in the jar top it off with apple cider vinegar. Make sure it’s the one with “The Mother” now let it steep at the very least 6-8 weeks. The longer it steeps the stronger it gets. You will also want to turn you’re jar every few days to mix things up. To remember this it is easier to leave it somewhere you can see it.
After you strain your fire cider you can add honey to add a little more benefit. I suggest a honey local to you if you are going to use it. We didn’t notice a difference in the potency of the elixir with added honey so we left it out of the next batches.
My last batch steeped for about 7 months before I strained it. I put the scraps in the compost and I always have have two bottles for easy access in the refrigerator. The large jar goes in there as well and I fill the smaller bottles as needed.

A quick shot of this superpower is a cold and flu preventer and fighter. Kevin and our youngest son swear it works. I believe it does as well. The other two boys and the girls absolutely do not care for it. I make something else for the rest of them that also is a powerhouse of prevention.
You can find recipes on line or use the list I use. A natural way to boost your immune system is a good thing in my opinion and we will continue using this. Do you use fire cider? Have tips or tricks for better health. I’d love to her from you.
Here’s to good health.
